Sustainability Project

 For this I and my friend made a project that is connected to the world, it could be a game that is connected to this topic. I and my friend have to pick a project that will be turning to sustainability, this could be a game, things, and more. 

I and my friend picked skateboards, we have to think of materials that are connected to sustainability, the only part of the skateboard that is connected to sustainability is the deck. this is the only part of the skateboard that we can change. we have picked the skateboards because this doesn't need many materials like bikes. and we don't use fossil fuels to ride this. 

We picked skateboards is because... as I said that we don't need to use fossil fuels to ride this. and we have a material in this world that grows much faster than maple trees, most companies use maple trees to make their decks. but there are some people who use bamboo. this is what we want to use for these skateboards. bamboo grows more than 6 inches every day. bamboo can grow around the world in a different type. 

This is connected to sustainability is because this uses bamboo that grows much faster than maple trees. maple trees take 40 to 60 years to harvest. this is related to sustainability is cause we don't take down big trees that will affect the world from global warming. 

For this one, I've picked a photo that relates to sustainability, I've picked the photo because of global warming and the polar bear is suffering from the heat.

 for the past weeks, we have been doing some tasks on this health subject. we have to pick a topic to write something about it and make one of the listed things or make something else. but first, we have to pick a topic to write something. for this, I've picked gaming addictions. I have to say why, what, who, how, and a choice of our own. so this is my 5 big Questions. Why do people play games? What would they get for it? , What should I do if you got addicted to gaming? , Who can help you to minimize constant gaming? , How do you overcome the addiction to gaming? , Who is responsible for this addiction?

Air pollution is one of the biggest problems in the world every minute we breathe air. Air is important to people, and not only people, and the animals also need it to able to live. One of the things that produce fresh air is trees but as now climate change is burning the population of trees, we need to plant more trees. there three types we mostly breathe and that Oxegen and Nitrogen, and a small amount of carbon dioxide.  But the biggest problem is that air doesn’t have any color in it and doesn’t have any smell to it, and we don’t know it has pollution in the air or if there are viruses. Most of the air pollution comes from factories from burning gases and other fossil fuels. 

We can prevent air pollution by burning fewer gases and lessen the number of trees cutting so we can get more fresh air.  This harm and affect climate change if we don’t cat now. When factories burn fossil fuel they release green gases into our atmosphere 

How to protect your health? 

You can protect your health by staying away from the traffic if you can so if there is pollution because of the gases from the car make. And take a shower after you went outside so the pollution won’t stick to your body. As I said we can’t see pollution in the air but our nose alerts us sometimes if there is pollution near us as the fire when something is lit in the fire the smoke particle of the fire is going up and some particle will fly across around the area that you can smell the fire. Then all the particles will go to our atmosphere then different gases mix up and that causes the climate change and the more amount of gases in the atmosphere the more heat the sun gives, because of the gases.

Why is it a problem?

It is a problem because of how we need to take care of it and be careful about what we set on fire. Using more fossil fuels might affect climate change in the next few years, as now Antarctica ocean is currently melting because of this climate change. It also might affect not only us but also all the living animals in this world. As I said we have to carefully know what we do. This problem is that we need to work on over the years, over 7 Billion people around the world we have to make sure we take this problem is easy. There is also another problem, the Amazon forest burnt almost 20 percent, and that 20 percent are dry out and it needs years to replant all of that loss. Every year over 4 Million peoples death because of a different kind of air pollution. For me, that sounds a lot. Most people die from air pollution because of the burning household.  

Cars, factories, farms, and rubbish around the world are being dumped, and that create toxic gases. This can spread thousands of miles through that area. As now we are currently breathing some of that toxic gas, air pollution is bad for our lungs, causing a problem like asthma.  

Conclusion

As I said we need to act fast to make this world a better place, and we need to make sure of our safety. And be careful about what we breathe in, air pollution is something to worry about so we can live to a better place.

P:E

For today, we did gymnastics and we have to learn something in one of the activities. and I did the trampoline and i have to do the things that were in the paper and if we did the things that were in the paper we had to show it to the teacher. and we have to film our self doing the activities but unfortunately, I forgot to record myself doing the trampoline. 

what was my goal today? my goal is to learn something new even tho it not perfect I will do my best until I make it perfectly. 

I and my friends did the balance beams, even tho it ain't perfect we still did our best. it is hard to get on the beam, I fail to get on it but I still make it on. the most difficult for me is the parallel bars, it was easy at first because I have to do a front spin but the backspin we really hard.

Circulatory system | Science

 Heart the heart is the part of the body that pumps blood to your body. one tube brings the blood then the other tube will bring the blood to your body and also pumps oxygen to your body. the common thing why people have a heart attack is because the heart stops pumping oxygen to your body. and veins are also connected to the heart. The atrium is the part of the heart that pumps blood to the heart and the ventricle is the part of the heart that takes the blood away from the heart. Aorta also takes the blood away from the heart and to the rest of the body. the vena cava is a large vein that carrying deoxygenated blood from head to heart.

 Why do road bikes have thin tire? 

they have thin tires because to lessen the pressure on the road and it also helps the biker to lighten the pedal in order to get faster. it made the bike faster because of the lightness and the less pressure on the ground. for decades bike tire has been adjusting to 19mm to 23 mm till 25 mm they try to see what is the right tire to be an aerodynamic, a 

why do mountain bikes have fat tires? 

they have fat tires because they need to balance into a rocky road if you have a thin tire to a mountain you have a big chance that you get injured.  and also one of the reasons mountain bikes have fat tires is because it contacts the grounds and less pressure it gives. 

tires are made out of rubber, this makes it perfect for a rocky surface but thin tires are smooth and its only capable of riding on the road.

Today in Coraline, we have to explain what is a type of lighting and what does it means. for example, light color stands for warm color and dark color stands for cold color. 

I've learned what kind of color is cold and warm. for me, purple is an evil color and it is a mix between dark and light color.  

what makes a good leader?

 last week, we made a video about how to make a good leader. this week we have to write something about what makes a good leader. and for this second task, we will make something. like writing or more you can also make a video. when you want to become a leader, you must have the confidence to face your fears around people. and you must respect people by making them feel comfortable around you and treating your group as one and work together. kind to others is also important to have in order to lead them to the way they want. everyone has the potential to be a good leader.

 in the past two weesk, we have been doing the sexxxy paragraph. each letter of the sexxxy paragraph have a meaning to it. we have to make a sexxxy paragraph and each photo need to make about it and say something about the photo. 

Coraline | Film study

In this film study, we have watched a movie called Coraline. It is a story about a girl that wanted time with her family. For this task, we just have to choose a theme for this. we are supposed to only chose 1 theme but I accidentally did two, the theme I chose is don't judge a book by its cover and be grateful for what you have. this is what I have done and we use an app called coggle.

Hi, 3 weeks ago we watch a movie. the name of the movie is Coraline, it all started when they move house, then she saw a small door to the living room. then she starts begging her mum to open that small door, but the mum opens the door then the door has no entry to go in because of the solid blocks of concrete.

What have I learned about this movie? I've learned that you can't be friendly to others that easily and you need to know them first.

for the past few weeks, I have been learning about photocolage and and photo montage. I've got this inspiration from anime, I watch anime since I'm 6 years old. and some of the cartoons and anime are my child hood happiness. but sadly, I dont watch cartoons anymore. butI still watches anime like dragon ball and one piece, These are my two favorite anime right now but dragon ball has ended so I only watch one piece now. 

 

bones in the hands - Hurumanu 2

 Last week we have finished the hand we made out of paper, we have to make this to see that is the point of the hand and see the joint of the hand and how do they work. there are five parts of the hand witch are Bones, Joints, Muscles, Tendons, and Ligaments, these are the parts of the hand. 

what do they do? Bones are the hard thing in your body. Joints without the joints, you can't able to move with the bones are attached to each other. Muscles without muscles you also can more this is the strength of your body to move around and. Tendons are the white tissue between the muscles, in order to attach the bone and the bone you need tendons. Ligaments is the thing that connected to the bone and what hold the joints together.  

English film language

Body language: This is what the character life and what is his/her feelings and what is the identity of this character, it is also the expression of the character and what his/her personality is and what is the movement of the body. 

Costumes: it is what the character wearing, and what is the character know as like what is his/her country in the movie. some of the movies have a country like the game of thrones people have different costumes and different countries. 

Hairstyles: it can be anything like a sideway hairstyle, in my opinion, this is the common hairstyle in some movie I've watched a different kind of movies and some of the characters have the same hairstyle. 

Make-up: every movie use make up in each character to make it realistic, like a scar in the face or in the arm even in the foot these are some of the things that make up the artist do to the character of the movie.

Colour: it sets the mood to the people who watch the movie.

Lighting: this also sets the mood to the people but this time its in the background 

Props: people use different kain of props like some swords in some movie there are different kain of props that director use to some different character it depends on what the character suits the best. 

Settings: it can be the background of the movie. 

Dialogue: dialogue is when two or more people talk at each other and have a conversation, this is what they call dialogue this use in harry potter most of the time because of a lot of people in the film. this is also common in some different movie like the 

Sound effect: to make the movie realistic you need to have a sound effect. it would be nice to watch and hear the sound effect of things like an airplane.

Music: this is the most important thing in the movie, this also depends on the scene that is happening in the movie, if it is a war in the movie then the music should be connected to the war. 

Silence: this use in some serious moments. 

Symbol: it is often an object, and suggest a new type of ideas.

Special FX:  is used to make the movie look realistic and to make the mood even better. 

No more plastic bags | textile

 Why there is no more use of plastic bags? 

Plastic bags are a band in New Zealand since July 1, 2019. Plastic bags are one of the materials that are hard to dissolve, since July 1, 2019 stores in New Zealand use paper bags. 

This actually can go to the sea and affect the marine life of the sea, if this continues the sea will be covered with plastic bags and more animals will die because of us. The climate is also changing and more pollution is being made, (why is it also relate to climate change?) it is related to climate change because the plastic will get the heat from the sun and will release gas into our atmosphere. (How do plastic bags were made?) plastic bags were made mostly in polyethylene  

This is one of the ingredients that they use to make plastic bags, it is also made from fossil fuel, Fossil fuel is like the oil this can only use only one time. (What can we alternate to plastic bags?) paper bags, cotton and compostable this are some of the things that you can use for replacing paper bags.

[Fibonacci Sequence] Hurumanu 5

 for the first few weeks of the hurumanu 5, we have been doing some things like making some patter lizard. we did some geometry and algebra this just the few things we did in mathletics. I enjoyed doing this math because of how we lear dofirent kainds of geometry and algebra, Mr Carter alwast support us when we need help. I've also enjoyed doing mathletics, and for the last 2 weeks of this hurumanu we have to present a task and the topic we chose is Fibonacci Sequence. everyday we can see every day like a flower, this is connected to the planet that's why we chose this topic, that's all that we did for maths.

1. First we have to soften the lemon in order to reles the zic from the lemon and the zic will give the volt.
2. next we have to poke the lemon with the copper and the zinc.
3. then connect the wire to the lemon to the volt meter.

Hurumanu 6, Parties and Leaders

Today in Hurumanu, We continued the work from yesterday we have to make a group of 4 people max. Me Lars, Axle, and Vann we have to make a logo and slogan, we have to make our own party, we have to make a speech and the leader have to say what will we do and what is the impact of this.

Yesterday we finish the logo and the slogan, Today we only need to do the Manifesto and the leader speech. This our logo and the All for Juan Juan for All this our slogan, the meaning of Juan is Justice, Unity, Action, Nimbus. but sadly we didn't have our party leader he has to write a speech.

Chocolate Chip Cookie

Hi in today's work we've done some baking, I've worked with Gerald and Khyle. this cookie is sweet and delicious. most of it was so tasty and very good

Method: Melt the butter, and add both sugars and cream these together. beat in the eggs and vanilla then mix in the dry ingredients. roll into medium-sized balls, making sure the mixture is not too wet! put on a well-greased baking tray. they shouldn't spread too much so flatten slightly. bake 180 for 8-10 minutes.

Ingredients

• 100g butter 
• 1/2 cup Chelsea white sugar  
• 1/2 cup Chelsea white sugar  
• 1 egg 

• 1 tsp vanilla essence 
• 1 1/2 cups flour 
• pinch of salt 
• 1/2 tsp baking powder 
• 1/2 cups chocolate      

Weekly Reflection

This week I've been doing some stuff that related to the CARR value, It was fun because we mainly did sports like badminton and we have basketball after school today, I participate at two spots badminton and basketball.

What is the meaning of CARR?. 

Commitment:  I've shown my Resilience by finishing my graph on hurumanu 6 I love what I did in the graph and I helped my friend.

Achievement: This week I've been achieving some things like maths and answering the right answer, and I've done the work in ESOL and finishing some things that all for achieving.

Resilience: For this week I played badminton and basketball and having fun with my friends and committing to the sports and represent our school and never give up. committing at the task and making sure I'm trying my very best,
after this day we have another basketball.

Respect: I showed my Respect by opening the door for a teacher and helping my friends if they needed help,  I respect my friends by giving them good and positive words.

P.E

Hi everyone, For today for P.E we have done some physical P.E. I and my class have been doing some table tennis and joggling and more. but the main thing to do in P.E is table tennis and juggling, I and my friend Axle tried to beat the high score in year 9, the high score is 53 but our score is 42 we almost beat the high score so we keep trying and try until we beat the score, but sadly we didn't beat the high score.

In table tennis, we have to let the ball hit the table before we hit it with the paddle then try to touch their table. If it did not touch the table you lose or if they touch then they lose the point or streak.

It is hard for us because we are new to it, but if we keep trying we might beat the score.

The juggling is really hard, for some people they can do it easily. it depends how fast your hand and how persistent your eyes to keep the ball or cloth, so first we have to juggle with only two cloth with one hand if we have done it 10x. we have to do the 3 cloth then if we have done 10x juggle then we will do the ball. we have to do the same thing first 2 balls in one hand. then juggle if we did 10x then next is the 3 balls and do 10x then if we are done the 10x we have to show the teacher.

I read about a girl who got in an accident and got disabilities her name is Sophia,
when they ask her and how would she describe it and she said (I broke her neck and become paralyzed) this accident happened when she was a Teen.

Hi, the second day of reading, I've read this book and started this week. The title of the book is " The Wimpy Kid" And the story is about a boy how he went to Hollywood and it's the movie diary. I love this book because it is a boy's story and how he wrote the book.

Hi for today, I have been reading about "The Wimpy Kid" and this time it says what the people in cine, and what was their life before the movie being created. and what is the story about them? like Greg, he feels frustrated because of his outfit he doesn't get new things, the clothes he wears have been used by his brother. the other one is Manny, he gets new clothes and gets dressed by brand new things, and more.

For the past one week, I've been doing some reading about the (Seraphina) I chose this book to learn new interesting stories. this book wag interesting because of the mythical creature called the dragon, I have an interesting thing about mythical creatures.

Mixing and Separating (Week 7)

Aim: To seperate the colours and the pigment.
hypophysis: I think that the colour will spread around the filter paper.   
1 Experiment result: The colour spread all around the paper, and it adds two more colour blue and black the main colour is purple.
2 Experiment result: The second experiment has a lot of colour it has Blue, Yellow, Purple, Brown, Pink and Gray the main clour is black I think that black colour has a lot of colour because of the things that made of.

method

• 1- Draw a line across the filter paper in pencil, 5cm from the bottom.
• 2- Draw a coloured dot in the centre of the line.
• 3- Measure out 10mL of water and place in the test tube.
• 4- Place the filter paper in the test tube and fold over the side. MAKE SURE THE PENCIL LINE IS NOT IN THE WATER.
• 5- Wait for 5minutes and observe the results

Equipment

• Felt tip pen, filter paper strips, test tube, measuring cylinder, pencil.

Conclusion: today I learnt how to mixing and spreading works, It was amazing to experiment.

CARR Value - Cyber Friday

This week I've done some amazing things in school, CARR value is a good thing in our school I've shown this value by facing my fear or helping others.

Commitment - I committed to our dance in the Wananga BBQ me and the others in the Filipino youth group, This day I'm very happy because I've faced my one feres by dancing in front of lots of people.

Achievement - I achieve some things in my work like wood technology, completing my PAT Reading test I was happy when we finish one of the PAT tests. 

Resilience - I never give up in the Wananga BBQ when we dance it was amazing when every one clap for us. 

Respect - I showed respect by opening a door for a teacher and it felt good when I respect everyone, I help my friend whos is new in my school I show him around and I was happy when he likes it. 

Tsunami - hurumanu 3

On this hurumanu, we have to make a graph of the tsunami, when it happens on July 9, 1958, the biggest tsunami hit the earth in Lituya Bay Alaska, the tsunami is over 1,700 feet high the first picture is the graph I made ut of google drawings, the other picture is the real destruction of the tsunami in 1958.
