Aim: To make a model atom
Method:
- Chose an atom to make (between hydrogen and neon)
- Work out how many protons, neutrons, and electrons it has.
- Assign protons and neutrons to a particular color bred.
- Get a ball of a blue-tac ad to stick the protons and neutrons to this to make your nucleus.
- Cut out the appropriate electron shells and draw on the electrons with vivid.
- Connect the nucleus and electron shells with a piece of string.
- Create a label to go above the model so people know what you have created.
Result:
Discussion: In the periodic table I used N which means Nitrogen. the atomic mass of nitrogen is 7 and the mass number of nitrogen is 17, the amount of protons, electrons, and neutrons has the same number which is 7. I used 14 bids and stick them together with blue tac. and half of it has a different color than the other bids. in order to make atoms I have to use half electrons and half neutrons. N has no odor, is tasteless, and colorless.
- Nitrogen gas is inert.
Conclusion: my conclusion the model atom work than I expected. I would not do anything different things to the model.
